About me

First and foremost, LIUMAMI is a homage to Mom & Dad and the culture and people that formed and fed me.
Beyond that, LIUMAMI is a practice in radical self-belief. A belief that creating something made from your hands, your palate, and your heart will sustain you. maybe even more.

So, feed my dream — let me feed you.

FAQs

It's more than just food. I want Liumami to have a sense of belonging (for you and for me!). I’d love for it to someday include an actual supper club to be even more rooted in connection, but in the meantime, the club can just be you & yours and my food.

I'll be clear: I'm not a professionally trained chef. I have a Master's in Accounting and a decade of a less-than-happy life in Corporate behind me. I’m just an eager home cook with years of real-life practice, a love for food, and a drive to feed others. My education consists of binging cooking content online, cooking as my primary hobby, lots of Top Chef and Food Network, and most importantly, learning from Mom.

While Chinese homestyle cooking and asian flavors are what sets me apart, I am constantly expanding my repertoire and love to make all types of cuisines. Check out my photo gallery for just a taste of what I can do.

Of course, we'll go over details like this in our intake conversation. All clients will receive careful consideration and zero judgments. Tell me the ingredients you hate, and I'll tell you mine. ;)

I get it. A customized personal cook may be out of reach. But I grew up cooking quick, flavorful meals with affordable, minimal ingredients (read as, "grew up poor"), and I can bring that same resourcefulness to you. Whether it’s a slow-simmered bolognese or a zhuzhed-up jar of Ragu, we can talk through your budget and build something that works for you. For example, simple dinners for 2 adults across 5 nights could take 2 hours. That equals 10 meals for $90, coming out to $9 / serving (excluding groceries).

A 50% deposit of a total estimated service cost is required at the time of scheduling. This deposit secures your cook date(s) and covers upfront grocery and preparation costs. The remaining balance will be billed and due upon completion of service. I accept Venmo/CashApp/Zelle and cash. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours of notice and your deposit will be refunded or applied to the new date. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice are non-refundable, as shopping and prep work will likely be underway. I know life happens, so if something unexpected comes up, I’ll do my best to accommodate.

Pick-up/drop-off meal options are coming soon! Per health code, selling meals this way is a product that requires me to use a licensed/inspected kitchen. Making meals in your home as a service is the loophole. You do not need to be present (although it might be helpful for my first time in your kitchen), and rest assured, I'll be heads down working in the kitchen. Maybe it'll even be a touch cleaner than you left it.

Transparency, trust, mutual respect, deep empathy. All are core tenets of this business and hopefully shown in everything I do – which includes my conduct in your home and in every conversation we have. I'm more than willing to prove myself!

Not a problem because I also operate on a lean kitchen. The minimum requirement is a working stove & oven. I'll ask about your setup and tools you have available, and I'll also bring my own kit with essentials (like knives, cooking supplies, etc.).

Cleanliness, safety, and professionalism are always top of mind. I am a certified Food Protection Manager as required by health code, and I will happily wear gloves and/or a face mask as you'd like.

Sure! Don't be afraid to get in touch.
