FAQs
♣️ Why do you call it a "supper club"?
It's more than just food. I want LIUMAMI to have a sense of belonging (for you and for me!). I’d love for it to someday include an actual supper club to be even more rooted in connection. But in the meantime, the club can just be you & yours and my food.✅ What makes you qualified? What is your education?
I'll be clear: I'm no chef. I have a Master's in Accounting and a decade of a less-than-happy life in Corporate behind me. I’m just an eager home cook with years of real-life practice, a love for food, and a drive to feed others. My education consists of binging cooking content online, cooking as a primary hobby, lots of Top Chef and Food Network, and most importantly, learning from Mom.🥟 Do you cook just asian food? While Chinese homestyle cooking and asian flavors are what sets me apart, I am constantly expanding my repertoire and love to make all types of cuisines. Check out my photo gallery for just a taste of what I can do.
🌱 Do you accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions or picky eaters?
Of course, we'll go over this in our intake conversation. All clients will receive careful consideration and zero judgments. tell me the ingredients you hate, and I'll tell you mine. ;)💸 How can I fit you into my budget?
I get it. A customized personal cook may be out of reach. But I grew up cooking quick, flavorful meals with affordable, minimal ingredients (read as, "grew up poor"), and I can bring that same resourcefulness to you. Whether it’s a slow-simmered bolognese or a zhuzhed-up jar of Ragu, we can talk through your budget and build something that works for you.🏠 Do you have to cook in my house? Do I need to be home while you cook? per health code, selling meals as a product requires me to use a licensed/inspected kitchen. making meals in your home is the loophole. You do not need to be present, and rest assured, I'll be heads down working in the kitchen. Maybe it'll even be a touch cleaner than you left it.
🤝 So how can I trust you?
Transparency, trust, mutual respect, deep empathy. All are core tenants of this business and hopefully shown in everything I do – which includes my conduct in your home and in every conversation we have. Otherwise...you'll just have to let me prove myself, something I'm happy to do.🍳 I don’t have a fancy kitchen...Can you still work with that?
Not a problem because I also operate on a lean kitchen. I'll ask about your setup and tools you have available, and I'll also bring my own kit with some essentials (like knives, cooking supplies, etc.).🧼 Are you clean and insured?
Absolutely, my goal is to nourish you. So cleanliness, safety, and professionalism are always top of mind. I have the Servsafe certification, and will wear gloves and/or a face mask as you please.❓I have a different question. Sure! Don't be afraid to get in touch.
